Red Bean 'N' Sausage Soup

Excellent recipe! Subtle flavors. Even better the next day. Used two medium Granny Smith apples, 3 heaping cups of kidney beans (cause we like them), crushed red pepper instead of black (my mistake), and also added a heaping cup of sliced carrots. Used homemade broth, so it wasn't too salty at all. Thanks so much for the great recipe, Tami!

Sarah's Rice Pilaf

Outstanding recipe! Certainly proof that "the whole is greater than the sum of its parts." Served plain with roast chicken, turned the leftovers into fried rice the next day. Used organic chicken broth and brown basmati rice. To reduce cooking time for basmati rice, soak it in warm water to cover for 20 minutes, then drain & add to the pot.

Rosemary Mashed Potatoes and Yams with Garlic and Parmesan

The BEST mashed potatoes ever! I've never baked them, per the final step - just mash them and put them on the table, where they are immediately eaten by my family. These have become the standard for our family dinners.

Gramma's Apple Bread Pudding

Excellent recipe - we've served it with vanilla ice cream, the vanilla sauce, maple syrup, and a bourbon sauce (instead of vanilla, add 2-3 Tbsp of good bourbon to this sauce) - and we can't decide which we like best! One note: I've used a full 2 cups of milk each time, which makes it very moist.

Clone of a Cinnabon

Given this recipe, you'd have to be crazy to ever buy another cinnamon roll in the store again! We thought the cream cheese icing was gilding the lily, so we used a simple sugar glaze (1-1/2 cups powdered sugar, splash of vanilla, 1/3 cup milk). These are scrumptious!

Simple Tuna Spread

Excellent recipe - I've made it several times, sometimes adding a small handful of grated cheese or some sour cream or black olives, but the basics are wonderful just the way they are! Try it with the Bagel Chips recipe from this site.

Rosemary Roasted Turkey

Outstanding recipe! I often use this to prepare a turkey breast before I put it in the slow cooker (cut all ingredients in half). Just excellent. Occasionally, to change it up a bit, I leave out the basil & Italian seasoning - and add a pinch or two of sugar and cayenne pepper. Seems to work with the garlic and rosemary. I also use this "rub" on pork roasts - thanks so much for a great recipe!

Red Bean Salad with Feta and Peppers

Excellent recipe. Good by itself, or added to a green salad or chef salad (with a little ranch dressing). Added 1 cup of corn kernels and 1/2 cup chopped celery.

Scalloped Potatoes and Onions

Excellent recipe - great to find one which doesn't use dairy! Like others, I forgot the mayo, but it still came out creamy and delicious. Also excellent with diced ham and half russets/half sweet potatoes. Thanks!

Cranberry Cheese Bars

These bars have become a staple at our family's holiday dinners. Like others, I add extra cranberries/sauce - otherwise these are perfect, and people always ask for the recipe. Recipe adapts to the use of mincemeat or tart preserves in place of the sauce, too. Enjoy!
