I have a house of good chefs in my family and believe it or not I never lift a pan in my mom's kitchen. I thought I was hopeless in cooking until I married my husband. I guess even though I never cook in my mom's kitchen, watching her cooked inspired me when I am on my own and I actually remember some of the stuff she made me that I loved and know how to make it again with memories of all the times she cooked for me. Still want to learn more other cuisines to fill my wonderful husband's tummy :P.
My favorite things to cook
Swedish meatballs, spaghetti bologenese, Chinese steam fish, Wontons, Steak, Tonkatsu , Japanese curry.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My daddy never cook the turkey as a whole, cuz we have such a small family. I remember he usually split the turkey in half so we have it for thanksgiving and Christmas. Its been like that every year. I like how he take his time to use the turkey breast and put lots of different veggies in it and do a roll up and baked in it the oven like that and it forms little turkey pinwheel after he cuts it. That was my favorite.
My cooking triumphs
Well definitely I made a better Japanese cheesecake. I thought I will never make one with success. Trial and errors help me build my confident in making one.
My cooking tragedies
One time I tried to make Japanese Cheesecake and I think I screwed up the ingredient part when it came out it was not fluffy at all it was one of my worst cooking ever my husband even said hehe :P I have to agreed.
