Asian Orange Chicken

Reviewed: May 12, 2012
Loved it. I was not sure I had enough zest so i just put in a heaping teaspoon of orange marmalade. I think the real key to this recipe though is the marinating of the chicken. Next time if I'm also making egg rolls I think I will find a tempura batter and deep fry the chicken so that it is extra crispy.

Very good is more on the bland side but thats exactly what I was looking for to go along with my chicken and gravy. I made it exactly as written and it turned out perfect.

Chrissy's Sweet 'n' Sour Tomato Salad

Loved it something a bit different. I heated the liquids just a bit to break down the sugar, I also used a sweeter onion.

Teriyaki Marinade

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2010
Loved it I only had time to marinade for 6 hours next time Ill do it over night. I heated the marinade a bit so the sugar melted. I also used a small fresh onion and 4 cloves of garlic chopped instead of dried and instead of water I used orange juice...it was fantastic better than that stuff I have been paying big bucks for.

Slow Cooker Texas Pulled Pork

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2010
I thought this was really good. My slow cooker took longer than 5 hours to finish it though. I only dumped half the sauce back in with the pulled pork as well since it would have been too much. The toasted bun adds ALOT I would not skip this step.

Shiny Chocolate Glaze

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2010
Once again my friend I knew you wouldn't disappoint with your recipe. When looking for a glaze recipe I saw you posted one I knew right away that is the one I would try. I didn't have the bittersweet but did use semi sweet and made half the batch because I was using it on a bundt cake. However that all being said it is delicious smooth satiny buttery chocolaty what's not to love! And half a batch works PERFECT for a bundt cake.

This recipe was just alright to me it didn't seem to have much flavor or spice to it. I am not one that likes alot of spice but for me personally I needed just a bit more.

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

I loved these cookies finally one that when it says soft it really is a soft cookie. I don't know why some others have had problems with it perhaps they baked them too long? I followed this exactly and was very pleased.

Hershey's ® 'Perfectly Chocolate' Chocolate Cake

This is a fantastic cake I have made this for years. I also add coffee to my hot water to intensify the chocolate flavor. I have also substituted some of the milk in the frosting for coffee liquor.

Classic Macaroni Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2008
Great basic macaroni salad recipe has just the right amount of tart/sweetness to it. It really does improve if left for 24 hours. I always like to tone down my onion a bit so if I don't have a sweet onion I use a regular onion and dice it up small for the salad then soak the diced onion in cold water for 1/2 hour before adding to the recipe it will calm down the flavor of the onion.

Lazy Day Cake

Reviewed: May 28, 2008
I made this years ago from the Taste Of Home Recipe book and it was quite good. The 1st time I read the recipe wrong and ended up with double the butter in it...needless to say it was VERY moist that time around...roflol.

Fabulous Orange Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2008
I really liked the texture of this cake. Bundt cakes to me always seem so dry but this one is nice and moist on the inside. I used the chocolate cake mix and also the chocolate pudding. I then used the mini semi sweet chocolate chips. I only gave it a 4 star rating because even though I used grand marnier I still did not taste the orange in the recipe. Next time Im going to add some orange oil or perhaps some orange zest.

Mexican Chicken Corn Chowder

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2008
Out of this world delicious. I have been asked for this recipe several times and it's a new favorite on our table. If you don't have cream style canned corn or have an issue with it you can take a regular can of corn and put it in the food processor and grind it up with about half the juice from the can and it works very well.

Tiramisu Layer Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2008
This was so good I followed others instructions and doubled just about everything and made 2 layers of coffee flavored cake rather than the one. I diluted the coffee in some hot water before adding so it colored nicely. I used about 3/4 cup of coffee to brush accross the layers and turned them upside down so they soaked in really well. I didnt have mascarpone so used the other suggestion for the cream cheese. The only real difference I made other than others suggestion was to add 2 TBSP of instant vanilla pudding to the whipped cream when I was whipping it for the frosting made it stand up really well. After 5 days it still looked good believe it or not.
