About this Cook
I have lived in Minnesota all my life. Married for almost 20 years. No children but 4 dogs 2 of which I rescued at the Humane Society. We are avid believers in rescue for animals. I love to cook and I don't think there is much I don't love to eat even more.
My favorite things to cook
Mexican, Italian, German
My favorite family cooking traditions
Sauerkraut and dumplings, Lefse, Chocolate cake with my grandmothers chocolate frosting.
My cooking triumphs
I can cook just about anything once I set my mind to it. I am most known for my platters of Xmas cookies I give as gifts every year. I try to add a new or additional kind each and every year. Also for buns that I am requested to bring to every family gathering. And my 6 layer cakes with mousse between the layers.
My cooking tragedies
Biscuits for some reason they always seem to end up like rocks. My last batch of peanut brittle was so chewy you had to let it melt off your teeth or risk losing a filling.

Ground Beef and Cabbage
The only thing I changed was to add 1 small can of tomato sauce.

Peanut Butter Bars I
I loved these and they work great for peanut butter cups as well. If I make them in bar fashion I only use about 1 1/2 sticks of butter. I always line the pan so I can lift them out for cutting. I cool the peanut butter mixture about 20 min. then frost them with the chocolate and wait about another 20 min. and cut them so the choc. doesn't crack.
