Tropical getaway!
About this Cook
I own a ladies fitness center, so I workout alot, but I also love to eat, so it's a good thing that I workout! I have 2 boys, ages 19 and 13. My husband and both boys love it that I cook and bake!
My favorite things to cook
Any bread product and almost anything sweet! I do love a good challenge at dinner, also!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Homemade square pizzas, refridgerated Christmas cookies, Peppermint bark, etc....
My cooking triumphs
I can just about pull off any type of homemade bread product; bagels, english muffins, bread. I have a cookbook that I wrote for my son who is not able to eat wheat, so most anything that calls for wheat, I can make from scratch using other grains.
My cooking tragedies
I'm sure I have had plenty, just not any lately!

Farfalle and Tuna Casserole
Oh this was perfect! Very simple to put together and bakes in 30 min. I used 2cans of tuna in water, fresh/chopped tomatoes, and a four cheese Alfredo. You could spice this in several different ways. Will make again.

Brian's Garlicky Prime Rib
Excellent tasting! I marinated in the fridge for 1 hour and then 2 more hours to bring it to room temp. I also used a light beer (that's all we had). This was not difficult to make, but the cook time needed much longer for my 6 lb. roast. Cooked for an hour covered, then uncovered and cooked for 1.5 hours. Then let it rest for 1/2 hour. Next time I will leave it in the oven for another 30 to 45 minutes. This was, by far, the best tasting prime rib I have ever made! The entire house smelled awesome too. Will make again next Christmas.

No Roll Sugar Cookies
This cookie is awesome! Yes, the cream of tartar makes them somewhat a shortbread cookie, but there are a lot of 4 and 5 star sugar cookie recipes on here that don't call for it. This was one of the easiest cookie recipes I've made. We did not flatten them with a glass covered in sugar only because we decided to frost them using the sugar cookie frosting recipe from here too. Anyway, easy to make and tastes wonderful! Will make again.
