Holiday Cranberry Sauce
This year is the first time I made my own 'stewed' whole cranberries for Thanksgiving (as opposed to the gelatinous mass from a can :). I used Splenda instead of real sugar, but I think I needed a little more than I used. This is a good recipe, but oddly, it was a little bland. (Seems strange to write that since cranberries are so tangy.) Next time I might try adding orange or lemon juice or zest like I read in some of the other recipes on this site and give it a slightly more multi-dimensional flavor.

Strawberry Spinach Salad I
I made this recipe for a company picnic this summer, and I've never handed out a recipe after the fact as often as I've handed this one out. The tang of the balsamic vinegar was a perfect offset to the sweetness of the strawberries... it was very good!

Sweet Potato Casserole VI
I have never made sweet potatoes for Thanksgiving in my entire life, until this year. My boyfriend wanted some kind of sweet potato side dish, so I pulled up my trusty Allrecipes link and found this one. I *highly* recommend this recipe. The potatoes were awesome and were the hit of the entire dinner! They are so sweet and creamy smooth, it was almost like eating dessert instead of a side dish. I mixed up the potatoes and put them in the slowcooker on low heat while the turkey was roasting, about 6 or 7 hours. When the turkey was done, I topped the potatoes with the brown sugar/pecan topping and put the crock in the oven to finish it off - 350 degrees for about 20 minutes. Every person at the table asked for a little doggy bag to take with them (and I had plenty to give away, since I doubled the recipe). I might cut back on the amount of sugar used next time I make this recipe because it was so sweet.
