Pasta with Peas and Sausage

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2011
Great recipe! I used turkey sausage and added a couple of shakes of red pepper flakes. I also used a mixture of heavy cream and skim milk, the sauce still thickened up nicely. Quick, simple, and delicious! I will definitely make this again!

Sweet, Sticky and Spicy Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2011
Yum! I followed the recipe exactly as stated except I used 2 chicken breasts instead of 4 (since it's only my husband and me). I had no problems with the sauce becoming thick and it had a really nice kick to it. I served it on top of basmati rice with steamed sugar snap peas on the side. Great recipe, I'll definitely be making this again!

Amatriciana

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2011
My husband and I enjoyed this dish. It's fast and simple with a nice flavor and the red pepper flakes gave it a good kick. As others suggested, I cooked the sauce for a bit longer and it was just right. Next time I will add more bacon and maybe a touch more garlic and basil.

Bow Ties with Sausage, Tomatoes and Cream

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2010
This is one of my favorite pasta dishes. My husband loves it too and requests it often. I've made it many times. Sometimes, if I don't have any canned tomatoes, I'll use a jar of really good pasta sauce (Barilla, for example) or I'll make my own pasta sauce. For a healthier version, lately I have been using Italian turkey sausage and fat free half and half instead of heavy cream. The red pepper flakes give this dish a nice kick and once in a while I'll add just a touch more. Awesome recipe, thanks!

Garlic Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2010
This dish was very easy to make and had a nice flavor. I seasoned the chicken with salt and pepper and let it marinade in the garlic/olive oil mixture for about an hour. The chicken was very moist and the breading was crisp. I did not really get any of the garlic flavor at all (although I added a bit more garlic than called for) so I may add even more garlic next time.

Tangy Turkey and Swiss Sandwiches

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2010
This was a very good sandwich! I didn't have any French bread on hand, but I did have a loaf of bread that I got from a local German bakery. I used ground thyme instead of dried thyme (there is a big difference) so I only used 1/3 of what was called for. The thyme adds a really nice flavor and really comes through after toasting the sandwich. I'm not big on warm slices of tomato so next time I may chop up some grape tomatoes and put it into the sandwich spread (as another reviewer suggested). This recipe is a keeper, thanks!

Baked Soy Lemon Chops

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2010
Yum! I followed the recipe as stated except I used low sodium soy sauce to cut down on the salt. I marinated boneless pork chops for about 6 hours. The chops had a great flavor. I served them with the sesame green beans from this site. Next time I may add a TBSP of honey to the marinade (as other reviewers suggested). Great recipe!

Sesame Green Beans

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2010
This dish was wonderful! I've been looking for different ways to make green beans and this recipe delivers. I used frozen green beans and it still turned out great. Thanks for the great recipe!

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2010
Excellent recipe! This was easy to make and turned out great! I used skim milk and the roux still thickened nicely. I also made two small changes to the recipe (as suggested by other reviewers). First, I omitted the salt completely. Second, I added fresh garlic that I sauteed with the onions before adding the rest of the ingredients. I'll definitely be making this again!

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2010
I've made this apple pie on many occasions and it always turns out great! I have always followed the recipe as stated and love that it's not too sweet. This is definitely my go to recipe for apple pie! I may switch it up a bit next time by adding a bit of cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla extract (as another review suggested). Thanks!

Cherry Chicken Lettuce Wraps

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2009
I enjoyed this dish! As usual, I love the use of fresh ingredients. I thought the use of cherries was a great addition to the recipe. The only change I may make next time (as another reviewer has suggested) is to use sesame oil instead of canola oil as well as add some red pepper flakes for a bit of heat. Thanks!

Chicken Tikka Masala

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2009
I really enjoyed this dish! I did follow some suggestions and cut down the salt. I didn't want it to be too spicy so I also cut down the cayenne pepper and ground black pepper down to 1 teaspoon each (as some suggested). Next time I'm going to use the 2 teaspoons of each as stated in the recipe because I actually missed the extra heat. Great dish, thanks!

As others have stated, I will never buy packaged taco seasoning again! The flavors are great and the seasoning is not too salty. Thanks!

Chicken Cordon Bleu II

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2009
This was excellent! It was the first time I've ever made Cordon Bleu and I was very impressed with how it turned out. The chicken was very tender and moist. The sauce had a wonderful flavor and was a great compliment to the chicken. The only change that I made (as someone suggested) was that I used a mixture of 3 TBSP of Extra Virgin Olive Oil along with 3 TBSP of butter rather than just 6 TBSP of butter to brown the chicken. Other than that, I followed the recipe exactly as stated. Thanks for the great recipe!

My husband and I made this last night as a topping for vanilla ice cream and we loved it! It's easy to make and is very delicious (so much better than store bought strawberry topping)!

Pasta Pomodoro

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2009
I really enjoyed this recipe! I love pasta dishes and this was a nice change from other pasta dishes. I especially love the use of fresh ingredients. I did follow the recipe as stated, except I only used one 8 ounce package of pasta and it was perfect for the amount of sauce. This recipe is a keeper, thanks!
