Baked Potato Soup I

Easy Cucumber Salad

For 2 cucumbers I substituted 1 tsp dried dill, 1 tsp garlic powder and dropped the parsley (since I didn't have any). Didn't have time to chill it 4 hrs, but it was amazing and delicious after 30m. There were no leftovers!

Sour Cream Apple Pie Deluxe

So good and easy! I substituted the topping for a store-bought apple crisp topping (with oats and such) that I cut in with butter according to this recipe's directions. Wonderful shortcut.

Sweet Almond Bread

What a delightful recipe! Any recipe that involves taking the dough out of the bread machine can be intimidating to me, but this was so simple. I didn't even have to roll the two halves of dough once I split them; they were already about 6" and I patted them flat with my hand. Make sure you cook them on a sheet with a rim because the indentation made in the loaves doesn't stay indented, and the butter mixture will run all over. As for flavor: I was skeptical about how sweet they could possibly be when they only had a small amount of sugar, but I guess the applesauce really did the trick, because these are nicely sweetened without being over-sweet, and they smelled like cinnamon rolls while baking!

Bread Machine Challah II

I've made this recipe 4 times in the bread machine now, and it's always been great. Usually it is very sticky to handle, so flour *everything*--your hands, your board,...and have extra flour on hand for frequent re-dosing. I enjoy adding 1 cup plumped golden raisins just before braiding, and everyone loves it. The center usually ends up chewy (whether with our without raisins), but my family seems to prefer it that way. I imagine if you baked it longer it might cook more thoroughly.
