This blog is posted because a thread recentley brought up the subject of using bunny poo fertilizer. I have a bunny and one of the ways I support my favorite rescue group for rabbits is to write articles for their bi-annual newsletter. Below is the piece I wrote. My sincere apologies are… MORE

About this Cook
I love looking at and collecting recipes and have been doing so since I was a kid. Everytime I came across something someone made that I enjoyed I would ask for the recipe. I have a nice collection now and sometimes find it funny looking at a recipe that I thought was so good or intersting then and thinking now "I liked that?".
My favorite things to cook
Homemade pizza with fresh homemade dough. My next favorite is a pot of "Sunday" sauce and meatballs. I love dipping a hunk of crusty bread into the sauce for a taste while it cooks.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Stuffing for a holiday turkey. You just can't top homemade stuffing.
My cooking triumphs
Roasting a turkey. I was always intimidated. I didn't roast a turkey until several years ago and to my surprise it came out great. A girlfriend from work taught me. Made turkey soup with the leftovers and again surprised myself because it was delicious. I never knew homemade turkey soup could be so good.
My cooking tragedies
I've had enough but at least learned.

Chocopeanutbanana Smoothie
This is heaven in a glass! Tastes like a chocolate peanut butter banana milkshake. Indulgent! Nice change from the often too sweet berry/too much fruit smoothies. For me it was too thick using 1/2 c. milk so I up'd it to 1 full cup (I used almond milk) and used a frozen banana and 1/2 c. crushed ice because I like smoothies cold. It was still thick, creamy and is a wonderful combination of flavors. Great healthier alternative to traditional treats yet satisfies like one.

Buttermilk Strawberry Shortcake
Wonderful light bisquit perfect for strawberry shortcake. I'm rating only the shortcake because I did not follow the recipe for the strawberry part (I used alot more sugar, no lemon juice and let them sit overnight to maximize the juice). I did sub out 1/2 c. of regular flour and used white whole wheat flour in its place. I brushed the tops with additional buttermilk to put a gloss on them but did not add the additional sugar. When the shortcakes cooled I sliced them apart, spooned juice and berries on top of bottoms, a dollop of whipped cream and layed the top to the side. Delicious! (recipe made for *RECIPE GROUP*)

Grandpa's Classic Coney Sauce
Very Good! Followed the recipe going just a little light on the sugar and vinegar (based on feedback from other reviews) and after browning the meat with the onion I pulsed it through the food processor for a smoother texture. This sauce is great. Brought it to a potluck and everyone loved it. It sorta tastes like a sloppy joe but as another reviewer said somehow just a bit different. Wonderful addition to bring or have at a picnic were hotdogs will be had. Thanks Sean!
