Orzo with Mushrooms and Walnuts

I loved this recipe! I used organic mushroom broth instead of chicken, organic wheat orzo, and shitake mushroom. Would be a proud Accompaniment to a special dinner.

Apricot Chicken I

My expectation was that this would taste more like apricot than any of the other ingredients but I didn't taste the apricot at all. Also, the chicken didn't get tender from the marinade. It either needs a stronger acid or may have to sit a lot longer than recommended.

Butternut Squash Bisque

This is an amazing recipe!!! The carrots give this dish give a sweetness that's perfect. Be sure to let the carrots cook thoroughly, I had lumps because I was too anxious :) I used chicken stock instead of the vegetable stock and I think that was a great but not necessary substitution. Loved it!

Apple Chicken Stew

This was an easy dish to throw together. I did find that the apple flavor was a bit overwhelming. I think it was the tartness of the apple I used (grannysmith). I think I will try a sweeter apple next time.

Sweet and Savory Kale

I've really learned to love Kale by way of receiving it every week through my CSA (Community Supported Agriculture). This is by far my favorite preparation of Kale. I shared this recipe with a friend and she used regular mustard and says Dijon is a must.

Chicken and Broccoli Braid

A M A Z I N G!!! Dish came out just as beautiful as the picture here. I only adjusted adding more broccoli and left out peppers. I think it would be great with a combination of meats and/or veggies. I already have been passing along the recipe. It's so pretty I'm definitely bringing it to the next pot luck.

Chicken Tortilla Soup IV

I thought this was a great recipe. My husband thought he liked our other tortilla soup recipe better. I think he was looking for more broth and the other is thickened a bit more with tortillas. I think I could adapt this recipe but I liked the hardiness as is.
