About this Cook
I love to cook. I grew up cooking and my family loves food! I have 4 children and enjoy cooking for them when they come home to visit.
My favorite things to cook
I enjoy making homemade pizza for my kids because they love it so much. Definitely my favorite thing to cook because my family appreciates it so much. I love to cook everything. I used to make desserts alot but am trying to lead a very healthy lifestyle, so I don't make dessert as much.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Grandma Welty's Peach cobbler, Gram's homemade potato salad
My cooking triumphs
I make really good pies and people love my Rigatoni with meat sauce!!
My cooking tragedies
hmmmmm.......I always have a back up plan when cooking for company so of course I really haven't had any of those. One time, when making homemade pizza, I had homemade crust in the oven just to "proof". (the oven was warm but not on) I forgot it was in there, and I turned the oven on to 450 to preheat for the pizza. That was BAD!! (rubbermaid bowl no less!!)

Whole Wheat, Oatmeal, and Banana Pancakes
These were great! I only made 1/2 the recipe because there are only 2 of us. I did not have dry milk powder so did not use any but they were still fine. Will definitely make again, probably with less brown sugar because the banana alone seemed to make them sweet enough.

Banoffee Pavlova
This has become a family favorite and is so easy. Great to make for company because it looks like you slaved all day! I have been making it for awhile with great success. Today I did not have a clean glass bowl, so used a plastic bowl. DO NOT TRY IT! When it says use metal or glass, it is true! So-I did have to switch over to a glass bowl to get my meringue stiff enough but it still turned out fine.

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan
YUMMY! I make tilapia alot but usually just use dill or lemon or Old Bay. This was more like what you would get at a fine restaurant! I did decrease the amount of butter to 3 T. and would probably cut back even more.
