Mozzarella and Tomato Appetizer

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2014
These were great and a big hit. I couldn't find long cocktail toothpicks so I made my own out of celery. This worked out great and made the whole thing edible. I will definitely be making these again.

Taco Turkey Wraps

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2014
I missed the instructions to drain the salsa so my sour cream mixture was very runny. I had guests coming over and needed to get these made. I had a package of cream cheese, added it to the mixture and increased the taco seasoning to a total of 4 tablespoons. This thickened up the mixture nicely. I finished making as directed and they were a huge hit. I used low fat sour cream and cream cheese. I will definitely be making these again.

Super easy and delicious! I took the advise of adding ice cubes to the vegetable salt mixture and they turned out great. Other than that, I followed the recipe as written.

Raisin Whiskey Steak

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2013
Excellent Flavor! I used a beef loin tip steak and it turned out great. I doubled the marinade, then reduced it once the steaks were done. Added the raisins to the marinade reduction, served over top the steaks and mixed remaining into brown rice. The reduced sauce mixed and tasted great with the rice. Would like to try with chicken and port also. Will definitely make again.

Vegetarian Chickpea Curry with Turnips

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2013
FABULOUS! I used items I had on hand so ended up using shallots instead of onions, and an assortment of red, yellow and orange peppers from my bag of mini peppers. I also like "kick" so I added extra crushed red pepper to suit my taste. I also had a pound of ground turkey that I needed to use, so I added that as well. Wasn't sure if I was going to like it, as this was my introduction to cooking with turnips. All I can say, is that it is so good, I can't stop eating it! This is going to become a regular dish at my house.

Pickled Mushrooms

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2010
I was a little skeptical about how these would turn out. We could only find sliced mushrooms at the local market so that's what was used. We prepared as written except we canned them and they turned out great. M finace' loves them so this will become a regular item in our pantry.

Fruit Dip VI

Reviewed: May 23, 2010
I have been making this dip since my children were little. This is something they have always loved and now my daughter makes it for her children. For a little variation, I would occasionally add chopped peanuts. We always served with Granny Smith apples...tastes like a caramel apple.

Three Berry Pie

So simple and FANTASTIC! I followed the recipe exactly as written and the pie turned out perfect. I was amazed at how it held together when I cut and served the slices. It was a huge hit. I will definitely make again. The next time I may use a sugar substitute just to cut back on calories.

This was fantastic! The only thing I did different was to omit the water. The only liquids used were the beer and bourbon

Incredibly Cheesy Turkey Meatloaf

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2007
This recipe is a great base/starting point and you can dress it up any way you choose. After reading some of the comments prior to trying it out, I decided to make it a couple different ways. The first time, I followed the suggestion of others and added onion, fresh garlic, jalapenos, worcheschire sauce and sharp cheddar...Fantastic! The second time I added spinach, black olives, yellow peppers and feta to make a Greek version. Again...Fantastic! I can't wait to see what we come up with next.

Stuffed Jalapenos III

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2007
Someone at the races gave us this recipe which we tried and loved. After making it the first time,we decided to use turkey bacon and fat free cream cheese to make a healthier version which we actually like a little better. Our third time, we added fresh red pepper, cilantro and onion (chopped real fine) to the cream cheese which also was a big hit. There are so many options. I can't wait to try more.

Freakin' FANTASTIC!! I was surprised that something so simple to make could taste so great. My whole family loved it, even one of my son's friends that don't like fish. I cooked ours on the grill. I had a small piece left over which I ate the next day. I don't usually eat left over fish but this was great reheated. I will make again, again and again!!
