Ultimate Double Chocolate Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2012
This recipe is spot on. Took 2/3 of the cookies to work and they were all gone by lunch time. Cookies are the breakfast of champions, at least on Mondays. The only change I made was baking them for 13 mins instead of the instructed 10. I chalk this up to a difference in actual oven temp (vs. oven display). Baked the 1st batch for 10 mins, let them cool and found them slightly saltier than expected (wasn't bad, kind of like a salted caramel). When I did the next batch at 13 min, the saltiness wasn't present.

MMMMM... Brownies

Reviewed: May 1, 2012
The resulting brownies are pretty similar to the easy bake Betty Crocker ones, but it's a good alternative. Since this one uses chocolate chips vs. cocoa powder the kind of choco (milk, dark, semi) will make a huge difference.

Oatmeal Chocolate Coconut Chewy

Reviewed: May 1, 2012
It's a great recipe overall as it produces a good oatmeal cookie. You can tweak the ratio of the add ins like the chocolate and coconut (omitted the nuts) to suit your tastes. I would recommend keeping the total volume of the add ins the same. My own changes: -used 1.5 sticks of butter -chilled the dough for 30 mins (or overnight even) to produce a chubbier cookie

Green Tea Layer Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2006
I used this as a cupcake recipe (due to the lack of cake pans) and it turned out very well. The cakes were moist and the icing complimented them nicely. Things to watch out for: It is recommended to use matcha/green tea powder and NOT the milk tea because the color and the flavour will not be as distinct. Also be careful as to the amount of powder you add to the icing. I judged it by eye to keep it a light (minty) green colour because if you add to much it'll end up looking like a Ninja Turtle . . .
