Slow Cooker Beef Pot Roast

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2012
I tried this for the first time today and it was wonderful. I added corn starch to the left over juices and it made the most delicious gravy; no additional seasoning necessary. I didn't change a thing and will be keeping it for future use!

Colored Sugar

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2011
I used this as a last resort as I had run out of my store-bought sugar sprinkles. I'll never have to buy sprinkles again. I put a cup of sugar in a food processor and added a few drops of food dye; couldn't have been easier.

Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies I

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2011
These turned out just as well as those I buy at the bakery! Very easy to make; I didn't change anything in the recipe. They were moist and chewy; a perfect cookie!

Chocolate Mousse Cake IV

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2011
Do yourself a favor and save this recipe! I've been looking for something that would compare to a cake we enjoy from the Cheesecake Factory and this is it. I was skeptical about starting with a boxed cake mix but this turned out so good. I even forgot the final step of folding in the whipped cream and it was wonderful. I used two 9" round cake pans and used a chocolate cake mix. Even after forgetting to add the whipped cream at the end, I had enough mouse to frost the layers of a 4 layer cake but ended up having to use a tub of icing. If you can find them, insert a couple of long cocktail toothpicks to keep the layers steady. I added chopped chocolate chips to the sides for a finishing touch and received many compliments. Its a keeper!

Toasted Coconut, Pecan, and Caramel Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2011
I was really pleased with the overall outcome of this pie. It reminds me of the "Millionaire" pie from this site; except with pecans and coconut instead of pineapple. I've made it twice in the past 2 weeks and it's been a hit both times. I like to use the individual-serving graham cracker crusts on pies such as this when making for company; people can't resist them. Great recipe!

Millionaire Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2009
I made this one Christmas Eve and my family now asks for it every time. It is a light dessert - perfect for balancing out all those heavy holiday dishes. My only suggestions are to make sure you don't over-mix the whip cream and, if you are making this for a party, try using individual-sized graham cracker crusts (sold in pckgs of 6 at WalMart). Doing so keeps the presentation looking so much better. This is definitely a keeper!

Aunt Teen's Creamy Chocolate Fudge

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2009
I had never made fudge before because it always seemed too difficult. I made this for the first time for a family Christmas Eve dinner. It's always a competition to see who can bring the most popular dish and this fudge was a big hit! I used just under a cup of marshmallow crème, used Ghirardelli chocolate and made sure I was constantly whisking the mixture. I followed the directions to a "T" and didn't change or substitute a thing other than the pan. I didn't have an 8X8 square so I used an 8" spring form pan. I sprayed it with cooking spray and didn't line with foil and it worked out perfectly. I will definitely be using this recipe in the future because it was so easy to make and the results are fantastic relative to the time and effort required. Great recipe Kelly!

Soft Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2009
Love this cookie! Like many, I tweaked mine based on the reviews. I coarsely chop 2 out of the 3 cups of oats, add 1 cup each of the white choc. chips, walnuts and sweetened dried cranberries (Craisens). I also add a tsp of cinnamon to the mixture as well. Just be sure to get them as uniform in size as possible to ensure even baking. I know that’s a “duh” moment for many of you, but I’m always in such a hurry I forget. ;-) I've always gotten rave reviews from this cookie and I'm so glad it was shared with us!

Country Style Fried Potatoes

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2009
I had never made this before and this was a very easy-to-follow recipe. A cast-iron skillet is a must with these. Will be making these again!

Zippy Sausage Spread

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2009
I had a version of this recipe last night and, although skeptical at first, it was very good. Our host added a Tsp. of crab boil (found in the spice aisle) to give it an extra kick. She served it with regular "Tostitos" chips. This may replace my favored queso dip (Velveeta and Rotel) as my signature party dip. I definitely recommend this!

King Ranch Chicken Casserole I

Good way to use leftover chicken. I wouldn't use an entire onion, however, as it is very over-powering.

Chicken Spaghetti Casserole I

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2009
My family really likes this recipe too. The only suggestion I have is to change it up using Velveeta cheese. This is very easy to make and it's always a hit at potluck dinners.

Cherry Cheese Delight

I've used a similar recipe before and it is always a big hit. I usually substitute the above-mentioned crust for individual-serving graham cracker crusts when taking these to parties. Always a requested item!

Jalapeno Chicken II

Reviewed: May 27, 2007
We tried this last night and it was a big hit! My normally "picky" husband even liked it. I only changed it a little bit. I substituted Velveeta (my husband's favorite) for the cream cheese and stuffed shredded bacon bits and canned jalapeños in the middle. I was concerned about it not cooking thoroughly but had no problems. Definitely a keeper! I served it over Uncle Ben's Mexican Rice. Yummy! Thanks for the great recipe.
