Sweet Potato Oranges

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2011
I made this for Xmas, what a hit! I cut the oranges in half and filled them the night before with the mixture. The recipe makes quite a bit of filling. I took the extra and filled a small casserole dish with it. On Xmas I made the sauce and topped the oranges and extra dish I had made. I baked everything and it all came out yummy! I did put the orange bottoms in foil so they would not brown and look pretty when they were done baking. I pulled off the foil when they were done and served. Everyone raved and raved about them !!

Garlic Shrimp Scampi

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2010
I made this dish for our New Year's dinner, it was wonderful. It was the second time I have made it. The first time I followed the recipe exactly. Last night I tried champagne instead of white wine instead. It turned out excellent. This meal is quite easy to make and a good one to impress your friends and family.

I made this for the men in my family, they loved it and had seconds. I used 1 can of cheddar and one can of potato soup. I also used all cheddar cheese, including the topping. It was very good.

The Ultimate Chili

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2006
This chili was wonderful. I brought it to a mixer and it was a huge hit! I did make a few changes though. I suggest you make this one day before serving. It really taste better the next day! I did add some onion and diced green chili with the celery and red bell pepper. I sauted these all together with seasoning salt and garlic before putting them in the slow cooker. I also fryed the meat with garlic and seasoning salts and drained all grease before adding to slow cooker. I cooked it on low for about eight hours. Then I let it cool down and placed it in the fridge to eat the next day. Note: Give yourself a few hours for it to heat up again in the slow cooker. It does take a bit to heat up again once it has been in the fridge. You want it to be plenty hot by the time meal time comes!!

Turkey Pot Pie III

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2006
This was excellent, however I made a few changes. I used cream of potato soup instead of mushroom. I used thawed frozen vegetables. I also cut up some fresh mushrooms and onions and sauted them along with the thawed vegetables in salt, pepper and garlic. I then added them to the liquid mixture and placed in pie shell.
