Lemon Cream Cupcakes

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2010
These cupcakes are awesome. The only tweakings that needs to be done to this recipe are: 1. Bake for 18 minutes 2. Add 3 Tbl FRESH lemon juice to the cake batter 3. Increase the icing recipe by 2 1/2 times Yes, the cupcakes are dense but who cares? the taste is awesome! Who says that cupcakes have to be light and fluffy? I will definitely make this recipe again and will experiment with using different flavors. The cake batter recipe is a great base recipe.

Pudding-Topped Fruit Salad

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2009
This is an awesome recipe! You can use your favorite fruits or any fruits that you have on hand. I used white grapes, strawberries, mandarin oranges & apples because it's impossible to find good peaches this time of year and I am not a fan of blueberries. Everyone raved about this dish! I will definitely make this again and since my dad is diabetic I will also try it with sugar free pudding mix.

Country Green Beans

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2009
I am from the south and I never thought of putting garlic into green beans. I tried this recipe because of the excellent rating although I was not sure if my family would like it. I do not think it is right to review a recipe and give it anything other than 5 stars unless I followed the recipe exactly! In this case I did not follow the recipe exactly. Instead of chopped onions and garlic I put powders. Instead of ham I used bacon grease. I also cooked the beans longer than the recipe called for because my family prefers them more tender. My daughter who does not normally like grean beans raved about them! I will make this recipe again!

Quick and Easy Alfredo Sauce

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2009
We made this for dinner last night. It was awesome! My daughter likes it better than my old recipe. Her boyfriend said it tastes like Olive garden. I served it with noodles and topped with grilled chicken. The recipe is easy to make. The key trcik here is to make the sauce on low heat and add the cheese a little at a time. Do not let it start to boil as the butter will seperate. We will definitely be using this recipe again. We made no substitutions but made the recipe exactly as written. Please help me encourage other Allrecipe reviewers to not rate any recipe lower than 5 stars if they do not follow the recipe exactly. Why do people make changes to recipes and then rate them 3 stars? Makes no sense to me.

Chantal's New York Cheesecake

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2009
This is an awesome recipe. I baked it 3 times during the holiday season. From my experience baking Cheesecakes here are the most needed tips for a perfect cheesecake. 1. Place the springform pan in a water bath while baking to prevent cracking. 2. After placing the cheesecake mixture in the pan, before baking, let it sit on the kitchen counter for 15 minutes. Any air bubbles caused by overmixing will rise to the top of the mixture. Prick them with a fork to remove them. 3. DO NOT OPEN THE OVEN WHILE BAKING. Put the cheesecake in the oven and don't even think of opening the oven door for several more hours. Bake and cool as directed and the cheesecake will be ready to devour in about 24 hours!

Strawberries 'n' Cream Trifle

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2008
This recipe is very good and can be made in many different variations. The first time we made it we used a strawberry cake mix. We also chopped up some fresh strawberries and added some sugar which we let them soak in. To the fresh strawberry mixture we added a jar of Smucker's strawberry ice cream topping. We wanted it to be nice and sweet. Another time we made this recipe we used a french vanilla cake mix and added an extra tsp of pure vanilla to the mix before baking. Then we used cheesecake pudding instead of vanilla. Again we prepared the strawberries by adding sugar and a jar of strawberry topping. This dessert is always a big hit and we always have requests for the recipe. 01/08/12 UPDATE: I am still making this dessert and people are still loving it! I always double the pudding and double the strawberries and it is the perfect amount for a 9x13 cake and it makes a beautiful trifle!

Easy OREO Truffles

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2008
These are better than you can imagine. I use the chocolate almond bark for dipping instead of the semisweet baking chocolate. Definitely chill the balls before dipping and I have found a fork works best for dipping. Place the chilled oreo ball on top of the fork and dip. Do not pierce the oreo ball with the fork. When you bring the fork out of the chocolate simply tap the fork on the edge of the bowl and the excess chocolate will run back into the bowl.

Supreme Strawberry Topping

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2008
This is very, very good. I made it to spoon over pound cake and then topped it with whipped topping. It was a little too tart for me so I added a ittle more sugar. I will definitely make this to top my cheesecakes. 01/08/13 UPDATE: I now use this recipe for strawberry cheesecake topping, strawberry trifle filling, you name it, it is a wonderful and simple base recipe!

Toffee Chunk Cheesecake

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2007
This cheesecake is awesome! I love toffee and I love cheesecake and this makes a great combination. It is very rich and the texture was perfect. I do not think I would ever try this one in a 9" pan. I sed a 10" and it was still a very thick cheesecake. I could not quit eating this. I had to cook it longer than the recipe required. I just kept checking it every few minutes until I felt that it was done. I will definitely make this one again.

I tried this 4 times and it never worked right. There was no humidity. I can normally make anything and I spend an enormous amount of time cooking and baking. I cannot figure out exactly where I went wrong but I won't try this recipe again.

Moist Carrot Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2007
This is the same recipe I have used for years. Although my recipe calls for coconut I do not use it because of personal preference. This cake gets rave reviews everytime I make it and I have been asked for the recipe more times than I can count! I am very confused about some of the other reviews that say the cake is too oily. I have never had that thought. Baking in 3 round cake pans will allow a shorter cooking time so that the cake will remain very moist. I always ice the cake with homemade cream cheese frosting. When taking this cake to church gatherings it is usually the first dessert to go and I rarely ever have leftovers!

This is a very good recipe. I have made it twice. The 2nd time I made it I cut the sugar in half and added extra cheese. It is not spicy at all so next time I will add diced jalapenos and diced onions. I will definitely make this again!!

Cheddar Biscuits

I made these biscuits to serve with salad, baked potato and blackened tilapia. My husband absolutely loved them and said they were better than the restaurant. I reduced the salt to a heaping 1/2 tsp. These were such a hit I will make these again tonight!

Ranch Pasta Salad

This is a very good recipe. I thought it needed a little something else but can't decide exactly what that might be. I also made it with creamy italian dressing which was good also.

Cha Cha's White Chicken Chili

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2007
I had never tried White Chicken Chili until now and I was pleasantly surprised. I did not add any jalapenos so it didn't have alot of "kick" but did have alot of flavor. A co-worker had recently tried another white chicken chili recipe and was not impressed with it. I took her a bowl of this recipe and she said it was much better than her recipe. I will make this again!
