Delicious Baked Chicken Kiev

This was delicious but more involved than something for a weeknight meal. My butcher suggested already tenderized chicken breasts and said to use a rolling pin to just roll them flatter. Saved time and mess! I used ready-made cornflake crumbs and dipped the breasts in egg before dipping them in the buttermilk. This seemed to help keep the butter inside better. Everyone loved this and I will definitely make it again.

Cauliflower Casserole

Everyone loved this recipe! I did as others suggested and lightened up on the bread crumbs a bit. Next time, though, I would just mix in the bread crumbs and cheese before baking. I thought it would all kind of "seep" in and it just kind of crusted on top.

Garlic Green Beans

I too used frozen green beans for this recipe and it was a HUGE hit! Next time I'll use fresh green beans. I really can't imagine this being very tasty with canned beans, personally.

Hawaiian Banana Nut Bread

EVERYONE loved this!! From my picky husband and 4 year old son, to all my guests on Easter day. Have made it twice in the last week! Using advice from another reviewer, I didn't change a thing the first time and it was perfect. The second time, I tried it without the coconut. It is much better with the coconut IMHO! Also, 2 cups of bananas is 4 average-size bananas. This should help so you're not having to measure your bananas after they're mashed. I usually have a hard time not making my own little changes to a recipe...which is why I tried to change it the second time. Don't change a thing! This recipe is going to be my Christmas neighbor-gifts for next year! Very colorful and easy to make. Thanks for sharing a great recipe! P.S. Added on 8/24/07, I have now made this recipe MANY times and here are a few more helpful tips (hopefully). First, this recipe will fill three of the aluminum loaf pans that you can purchase for gift giving. Also, the last time I made this I added ALOT of pineapple. That is a big mistake! It makes the bread too gooey, so if you experiment, this is not the ingredient to increase. And one last thing. At least when I bake this, it takes around 55 minutes to be done, at least. My oven is right on, temperature wise, too. ENJOY!!

Easy Apple Crisp

This was a HUGE hit! Super easy and delicious! I followed other reviewers and made the following changes as well. I used a yellow cake mix, tossed apples with cinnamon and nutmeg, reduced watter to 1/2 cup plus 1 T vanilla, added 1/2 cup oatmeal, changed butter to 6T, baked 50 minutes. Topped with ice cream...YUMMY! Now I'm off to send the recipe to everyone who asked for it. Thanks!

Grecian Pork Tenderloin

I'm making this AGAIN by special request, it's on the grill right now. My family loved this and I can't wait to try it with chicken. Super easy and a great neighbor meal. At medium heat on the grill, this needed more like 45 minutes to one hour to cook for me. Thanks! Updated 9/18/07: I have since made this with chicken as well and it is excellent. We served the chicken with Magpie's cucumber sauce recipe from this site, flour tortillas (homestyle), red onions, lettuce and grape tomatoes. Made a great souvlaki-type meal.

North Carolina-Style Pulled Pork

This was very easy....I had to make it in the crockpot. I also placed the meat with rub in the fridge overnight. Also cooked on top of two quartered onions. Huge party hit. Served with potato rolls and swiss cheese as suggested by another reviewer. We made the sauce that came with this recipe, plus offered Famous Dave's Rich and Sassy for options. We ALSO had some of my famous home-made cole slaw and mashed yukon garlic potatoes for those who weren't in the mood for a sandwich. Great meal!

Annie's Fruit Salsa and Cinnamon Chips

I made this the other day for a house warming party and it was absolutely FABULOUS!!!! Beautiful presentation/looks like it was much more work than it was. I used all the fruits called for in the recipe but substituted orange marmalade for the raspberry preserves. This gave the salsa a great hint of citrus plus just one more great bit of color with the orange. I too cut out the white sugar. It doesn't need it!! I added fuji apples at the end instead of the golden delicious. One suggestion I have when making the chips. Buy thin flour tortillas, not the thicker ones. After reading the reviews, here is how I made my chips. As suggested here, I put my tortilla shells on a plate in the sink, sprayed butter flavored pam on both sides, then sprinkled both sides with cinnamon sugar from a shaker. Then I cut the shells with a pizza cutter and baked for NO MORE than 9 minutes. They do get more crisp as they cool. Great recipe and I'll be making it again and again!!!

Festive Tossed Salad

Excellent salad! This will go with any meal. I took it to a luncheon and we all especially LOVED the dressing. The other ladies made chicken salad sandwiches and strawberry soup. Perfect combination if you're looking for a good menu! I did add some walnuts and they were very good as well. Great color and easy to make. Thanks!

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

This was delicious and too, too easy! I modified it this way just because this is what I had on hand. 1 2 pound cross rib roast. 4 or 5 yukon gold potatoes. 1 envelope onion soup mix. 1 can cream mushroom soup. 3/4 cup water. Cut potatoes in 1 inch cubes and placed in bottom of crockpot. Placed roast on top. Combined other ingredients and poured on roast and potatoes. Cooked on high heat for 5 hours. Grilled Peanut Chicken

This chicken turned out delicious, however, it needed some tweeking so I only gave the original recipe four stars. Thanks to other reviewers I increased the recipe for the sauce quite a bit. This is necessary as having extra for a dipping sauce is a MUST! I did add a little water (tried olive oil too, but didn't work as well). It is too thick if you don't. You have to really watch this on the grill so the sauce doesn't get burnt. Also, as one reviewer suggested, I added some brown sugar just to the dipping sauce. This makes a huge difference also. I probably increased the sauce by 4xs, but I was cooking 8 breasts. We will definitely make it again. Thanks!

Shrimp Marinaders

This was easy and delicious. Like another reviewer, I left the onions in slices and removed them before serving. I did also add green onions and the juice of one lemon. Served over ice with cocktail sauce. (Also, I forgot and bought shrimp with tails ON...worked great)

Hungarian Mushroom Soup

Delicious!!! I made just a few modifications because of items I had on hand. The only change I made is I added leftover chicken that I had (made with the marinade recipe for Grecian Pork Tenderloin on this site). Since the chicken had marinated in lime and oregano, I skipped the dill and added just a teaspoon of lemon juice instead of what the recipe called for. I also made this a little thicker with extra flour and we ate it with some brown rice. This is a new favorite and even my husband who is not a huge mushroom fan LOVED it! I will make the soup as is for my recipe exchange group this month. Thanks for sharing a fantastic comforting soup.

High Temperature Eye-of-Round Roast

PERFECT roast! I followed it to the letter and it was THE most tender meat we have ever eaten. Will make again and again and I've already emailed the recipe to my mom and plan on letting all my cooking friends know that this is the ONLY way to cook an eye-of-round roast. Thank you for sharing! :)

Ham Bone Soup

Yahoo! I've been looking for an alternative to lima beans and ham for my leftover ham bone and this is it! Delicious, nutritious and very easy to make. I hardly changed a thing. I just added a couple of carrots and used chicken broth since that's what I had. Like other reviewers I also added a bay leaf and one whole garlic clove. The broth in this soup was wonderful. Very filling and perfect for a cold winter's night to warm the family. Thanks for a great recipe.

Fantastic Mexican Dip

This was a huge hit! I made half just as the recipe says since kids were going to be eating some of this, and half with the changes that senoritak made with the red/yellow/green peppers and sliced jalapenos. All the grown ups LOVED the jalapeno side and gobbled it up! I didn't add alot of the red/yellow/green peppers this time. Next time I will cover it in jalapenos (which are not hot at all if you don't add the seeds). Very pretty presentation as well.

Fresh Asparagus Soup

Delicious!!!! Loved it even though my food processer also couldn't get it quite smooth....I'll have to get the imulsion blender as mentioned in previous reviews. I agree it is hardy enough for a meal on it's own also. Thanks!
