Oh! Shakespeare what is in an egg noodle recipe that confounds, confuses and causes so many tutorials to be written - yet many wander in darkness afraid to roll a noodle?  For this recipe I hit the tutorials.  I watched acres of You Tube (yeah I know what an acre is, but isn't it a cool… MORE

Every year, as an avowed bibliophile, I try to find for my good wife, an assortment of great reads for Christmas. This year, for some reason, the pickings were slim so I set out find a cookbook for her.Now you must understand, my wife doesn't hate cooking, she has humble British roots and of… MORE

My fasting BG was 268 this morning.  While one day is not much of a difference, I've rarely seen below 300 in the past few months even with the copious amount of insulin that I have had prescribed. My learning for the day is that I *must* plan meals until I get more comfortable with the… MORE

Sometimes, it feels like food is just a microcosm of a problem we all share these days: trying to do too much in too little time. In my own case, there are several things that compete for my time with the goal of eating well: My job, and maybe even more critically, my commute. I'm lucky to live… MORE

My morning came to life slowly.  First I could hear the twitter of the “backyard” birds at the feeder; next the whistle of a wood duck as it flew overhead and out to the marsh, then I heard several splashes.  Not the sound of something being thrown into the water-more a soft “glide” – sliding… MORE

At first, I was sad.  More sad than I had been when I was first diagnosed with diabetes.  After having awesome numbers for years, my A1C numbers were climbing, which was not a surprise since my daily test strips demonstrated increasing fasting and post-dinner glucose levels were constantly… MORE
