Tips For the Camp Cook
1. Make a checklist that includes ingredients you'll need for each meal. Remember to pack the basics: a good knife, cutting board, salt and pepper, dishtowels, metal skewers for roasting marshmallows and a trash bag.
2. Reserve your campsite early in busy state and national parks. Ask about burn bans or any restrictions on building campfires. Find out if there is firewood for sale onsite.
3. Don't forget cleaning supplies: a tub and dish soap for washing dishes, and a grill brush for scraping the campsite's grate.
4. Pack a first-aid kit for burns, bites and stings. Include sunscreen and insect repellent.
