I've seen a lot of recipes for this soup; however, my mother-in-law adds tomato paste for a bit of a different flavour and she doesn't add any lentils or beans. It's thick, filling, and delicious, and you could make it vegetarian by using vegetable stock. 

Asian Burger Soup

An amazingly simple and fast soup for those times when there isn't a lot of time! Browned ground beef with sesame seeds in a consomme broth garnished with bean sprouts, green onions, red bell pepper, and mushrooms. Great with egg rolls on the side for a complete meal.
