This popular dish originated around Monterey Bay, California. This version, created in San Diego, has a southwest flavor. Serve with large bibs, crab shell crackers, extra bowls for the shells, and finger bowls if you wish. Nice served in large, shallow bowls alongside crusty sourdough bread, a green salad, and chilled white wine. You can vary the seafood according to the catch of the day, yours or your market's.

Mussels are topped with a rich curry butter, sealed in foil packets, and grilled until done in this terrific recipe. They're so delicious! I serve these as an appetizer with warm, crusty bread for dunking followed by a big green salad topped with grilled chicken or shrimp for an easy summertime meal.

Lobsters, clams, mussels, potatoes, fish, corn, hot dogs, sausage, and onions all baked/steamed together in layers, in a hole you dig on the beach. Serve with lots of melted butter and bread for sopping up all the delicious juices.
