Bacon sure does something wonderful for broccoli, and that 's the case with this great party salad. It 's fried up and crumbled and sprinkled on the fresh broccoli along with toasted sunflower seeds. Onions and raisins, also make an appearance.

Made ahead, a bowl of this salad would make a well-rounded lunch, or dinner for one of those too-busy-to-cook nights. The crunchiness of the broccoli, sunflower seeds and crisp crumbled bacon make the perfect foil for the mayonnaise-based dressing.

Those tidy packages of Ramen noodles seem to be quite versatile. Here they turn a broccoli salad into something special. The seasoning packet and a bit of oil and vinegar make the dressing, and the crunchy noodles combined with sunflower seeds, peanuts and green onions, do wonders for the broccoli slaw.

This is a great salad to pack for lunch at work, or to take to family gatherings. Broccoli, feta cheese, and other goodies are tossed with a homemade dressing made with low fat yogurt and mayonnaise, and seasoned with lemon juice and salt and pepper.
