What 's nice about this version of cranberry salad, is the orange rind, you can taste it in every bite. And the raspberry flavored gelatin that all the ingredients are stirred into, adds another taste dimension. Serves eight.

Last but not least, Yvonne tosses together an effortless sweet treat to cap off the meal. 'I received the recipe for Creamy Fruit Medley from a friend of my mother's years ago,' she recalls. 'I always have the ingredients on hand in case I need a quick dessert. 'Any flavor of gelatin works well, and sometimes I spoon it into individual parfait glasses instead of serving it in one big bowl,' Yvonne suggests. 'Everyone enjoys it.'

Because it can be made ahead, a gelatin salad like this one, brimming with fruit and nuts, is so convenient. This salad (another old standby from the cooking show I watched years ago) comes out of the mold easily and looks very attractive when served. -Shirley Leister, West Chester, Pennsylvania
