This is a delicious fruit-filled version of cranberry sauce. The pomegranate is cooked separately to facilitate seed removal, then both parts are combined to finish cooking. It's wonderful as an accompaniment for poultry, and can be made into a lovely trifle-type dessert with vanilla pudding and pound cake.

This spicy, bright-red applesauce boasts extra antioxidants (concentrated in the apple skins) and antibacterial activity (in the cranberry juice). As a bonus, cinnamon helps blunt sugar's ability to spike blood glucose. It's an easy alternative to traditional cranberry and apple sauces for your holiday feast.

Refreshingly sweet, tart and tangy - this recipe is incredibly easy and it's a great change of pace from the usual boring cranberry sauce. The flavor of the cranberries mingles wonderfully with the pear, honey and lemon. It freezes well too!

This is an excellent cranberry sauce that is good year round. Buy cranberries in November or December and freeze them so that you can make this sauce throughout the year. The prepared sauce freezes very well.

Cranberry Sauce for Acorn Squash

This recipe has been passed around the family for years. A pretty cranberry sauce replaces plain brown sugar as a topping for acorn squash. The squash may be cooked more quickly in the microwave by cooking it on high 5 minutes, cutting it in half, removing the seeds and cooking another 5 minutes, or until tender.

A fantastic recipe with a touch of HOT for chicken or turkey. Use caution when handling the jalapeno peppers. Uncle Bill's Tips: Wear plastic gloves or wash hands thoroughly after handling, using white vinegar or a mixture of water and bleach to remove the pepper's heat.
