Brisket is rubbed with spices and liquid smoke and then cooked in a slow cooker with barbeque sauce until tender and juicy. This calls for just enough barbecue sauce for that smoky flavor while still allowing the flavor of the meat to come through.

This small, sweet fried doughnut has an indent in the center, rather than a hole. It's then covered with powdered sugar and filled with whipped cream. Add a few sprinkles or sugars for a decorative touch.

Dill pickle slices become crispy, golden appetizers when marinated in buttermilk, dressed with a corn meal/flour coating, then deep fried. Old Bay and Cajun seasonings add a kick to their crunch and a buttermilk-ranch dipping sauce.
