Fantastic Crab Dip

This recipe can be served hot or cold with a variety of different crackers or bread. It can be placed in a loaf of hollowed out sourdough bread; the bread can be used for dipping. Don't heat dip when in the bread; bread will become soggy. Heat the dip, and then fill bread.

Blanch broccoli and cauliflower for one minute in boiling water before adding to other ingredients - red bell pepper, cucumber and carrots. Splash with a nice Italian salad dressing and let the flavors mingle for a bit in the refrigerator before serving.

We think that parties and pita bread were made for this eggplant - based dip. Baked, peeled and cooled eggplants are mated with lemon juice, yogurt, tahini, olive oil ...and a few other ingredients. A stint in the frig and it 's ready to dip into.

Avocados, onion, chopped tomato, garlic and a splash of lovely lime juice. That 's all. Well, maybe a dash of salt and pepper and an hour or so in the refrigerator. Fabulously easy.

A Greek dip with a pungent garlic flavor. Good served with hot pita bread triangles. Chill for at least 30 minutes before serving to develop the flavor. If you prefer, use parsley in place of the mint.

These are made in muffin tins and are fun to whip up and to eat. A cumin and lemon-spiced egg mixture is stirred into spinach, ricotta, parmesan and cheddar cheese. Then this delicious batter is poured into the waiting pan and baked.

This is an incredible cheese spread. With the red of the sun-dried tomatoes and the green of the pesto, it makes for a beautiful Christmas appetizer. Garnish with toasted pine nuts and sprigs of basil. Serve with crackers.
