Seven Layer Taco Dip

I am continuously asked to bring this dip for parties and family get-togethers. People gather around the platter until it's gone. Five layers of Mexican-inspired delights are topped by a layer of vegetables, then smothered in cheese and garnished with black olives. The vegetables may be varied according to taste.

Everyone loves a Cobb salad and this is a great recipe. It makes plain old, shredded iceberg lettuce shine. Bacon, hard boiled eggs, chicken, tomatoes, blue cheese, avocado, green onion and dressing.

Grilled Chicken Salad with Seasonal Fruit

This salad looks and tastes great and can be varied with the seasons. In summer use your favorite type of berry along with the grilled chicken, and in winter use orange segments (or try dried apricots or cranberries. The dressing is a sweet vinaigrette, and complements both the fruit and the poultry.

Ok, I live in Buckeye country, that's the land of Ohio State University football to the rest of you. We love to tailgate and watch the Bowl games, and are always trying to come up with clever things to do to our biggest rivals up north, the Michigan Wolverines. The cherries and maple in this wonderful salad inspired the name. Enjoy!

Moderately spiced crab meat rolled into Thai spring roll sheets before quickly 'pan' deep-fried and dipped into a magical, tangy dipping sauce! Arrange on lettuce leaves with the dip in the center for a stunning presentation.

Not only is this appetizer beautiful as a presentation, but it is a fun appetizer to eat. Guests get to assemble their own, picking and choosing among the condiments and sauces. For the host, everything can be done ahead, even the pork. Marinate and grill the pork early in the day, or even the day before, and refrigerate the chops. Slice the pork just before serving. The sauces can be made and placed in serving bowls several hours ahead; the condiments can be assembled on the platter and then covered and refrigerated ready to serve.

Chicken, lettuce and green onions are just the beginning of this Asian-style salad with crunchy almonds and chow mein noodles. I got this recipe from a very dear friend who got it from a co-worker. We tried it and people just go crazy. It's especially great for parties and family get-togethers.

Ground beef seasoned with soy and hoisin sauces, garlic, ginger, and green onions - with a bit of crunch from diced water chestnuts - is gently folded into fresh lettuce leaves to be eaten burrito style. Delicious, and great for entertaining or family style meals.

This is a crunchy, wonderfully satisfying salad that is fabulous with grilled chicken, leftover from yesterday 's barbecue. The dressing is sweet and sour, mingling brown sugar with soy sauce and rice wine vinegar. Fried rice noodles add the crunch. Serves six.

A glass salad bowl is a must, otherwise your diner guests will miss all the pretty layers. Those layers begin with chopped lettuce and go on from there - onion, peas, shredded cheese, bacon, cauliflower, and finally a creamy parmesan and mayonnaise dressing.

A yummy twist to an old favorite. The frybread makes the difference. It's a popular request at my house. I do up everything but the frybread in advance, and just heat up before serving. Leftover frybread can be used as dessert - coat it with cinnamon and sugar, and drizzle with honey.
