Oranged Cranberry Sauce

This recipe was graciously shared with me by a Jamaican friend, many years ago. It makes a delicious sauce, different from any other cranberry sauce I've ever tasted or made. It does not "gel" but you do want to cook it long enough to make a good, thick consistency. You can use 1 tablespoon of excellent quality ground cinnamon instead of the cinnamon stick, if you prefer. Apple Butter III

This is a breakfast spread for purists. The natural sweetness in this spread comes from the apple juice and the concentrated flavor in the dried apples.

Cranberry Walnut Relish II

I inherited this recipe from my Mom. It is assigned to me every year along with the relish tray. I am no great cook, so you can be sure it's very easy. It's so great, it's the only cranberry dish we serve!

These taste amazing and are quick to make! You can play around and substitute different milks, oils and extracts; just about any will work. I've listed my favorites. Unfortunately, this recipe doesn't rise well as a cake, but cupcakes are more fun anyway! These are great with a simple frosting of cocoa powder, powdered sugar and orange juice.

Roasted Brussels Sprouts

Brussels sprouts - the perfect holiday side dish - are simply seasoned with salt, pepper, and olive oil, then slow-roasted in a very hot oven until darkest brown. They are the perfect combination of sweet and salty, and make for perfect snack leftovers straight from the fridge the next day!
