Iola Egle of Bella Vista, Arkansas enhances a medley of fresh berries with sugar, pepper and balsamic vinegar. Serve berries on lettuce. like Iola does, for a fun summer salad...or showcase them in pretty phyllo cups, as our Test Kitchen suggests, for an impressive dinner finale.

This is an easy way to make cordial and it's good for gifts! Other berries such as raspberries, strawberries or blueberries may be used in place of blackberries, and rum or brandy may be used in place of the vodka.

These are moist and sweet, and full of berries - and in my opinion are much better than plain blueberry muffins. My two children cannot get enough of them, and often bring me berries they have picked to make these muffins. The muffins are made with whole wheat flour and wheat germ, but the kids do not seem to notice.

A wonderful taste combination, this terrific pie can be made in the summer with fresh berries and in the winter with frozen ones. The berries are mixed with sugar, flour and cinnamon, spooned into a waiting crust, and sprinkled with lemon juice and dotted with butter. And then on goes the top crust and it 's ready for the oven.

My mother made this pie so often she could do it with her eyes closed! We picked the berries ourselves, and the apples came from the trees in our orchard. I can still taste the delicious combination of fruits encased in Mother's flaky pie crust.

My grandmother made this cobbler when I was a little girl I can still remember the fun we had first picking blackberries together in the hills. Blackberries are my favorite filling, but this cobbler can also be made with apples.

I strongly recommend using fresh blackberries in this recipe for best flavor. Raspberries, strawberries or a combination of all three may be used, but they should all be fresh.
