All-Around Good Smoothie

Submitted by: AmyJessica
This is a recipe I experimented with to try to get a good amount of vitamins, calcium, protein and fiber in my diet. The great part of this is that I don't get bored with it (even though I drink it every day) because I can change the type of fruit I use whenever I want.

Strawberry Salad II

This salad is wonderfully refreshing for a family gathering. If it's strawberry season, freeze fresh berries and use them in the salad.

Instant Strawberry Ice Cream

Why make my homemade 'instant ice cream' when buying good strawberry ice cream is equally instant? You have to taste this frozen treat to know why. It's half sweetened strawberries and half cream, so the ratio of fruit is extraordinarily high, giving this ice cream an amazingly fresh strawberry flavor. It's not smooth, but what it lacks in creaminess, it more than makes up in fruit-flavor punch.

We have a rhubarb patch, so I'm always looking for recipes featuring this 'fruit'. I've served this coffee cake to people who say they don't like rhubarb, and they've always told me how much they enjoyed it.

Cherry-Berry Pie

The lovely combination of tart cherries and sweet strawberries make this pie fantastic. The fruits are combined, folded into a sweet, thick tapioca syrup, and piled into a pie shell. Then the top crust goes on and the pie is baked for 30 minutes.

This thirst-quenching drink is perfect for a summer picnic or family get-together. When I serve it in a punch bowl, I'll often make an ice ring of ginger ale with a few berries in it to float on top rather than use ice cubes.

Besides being wonderfully tasty, this refreshing salad is very pretty, too! A light layer o cream cheese and sour cream contrasts with the rich red fruity gelatin. It makes a delightful side dish for a turkey dinner. --Ardis Rollefson Jackson Hole, Wyoming
