My grandmother used to make this refreshing drink for those hot Oklahoma summer days. The family would sit on the front porch relaxing while sipping this drink. Here in California, where lemons, oranges and mint are so abundant, my family has found equal enjoyment sitting in the shade and drinking a tall glass of this thirst-quenching cooler.

Use cheap diet cola when making this drink. The sweetener makes the drink taste like it has alcohol in it, but it doesn't. Of course, you could always add some later! Delicious either way!

You can change the flavor this recipe by using any flavored syrup. For a Lemon Rickey use a lemon in place of a lime. For an Orange Rickey use an orange etc. For an alcoholic version, add a 1/2 ounce of vodka.

The sunny color of this refreshing punch matched the bright yellow sunflower decorations for my theme dinner. It's easy to stir up, too, which is good new because a few sips may quench your thirst, but your taste buds are sure to be asking for more. --Holly Joyce Jackson, Minnesota
