Basic ganache consists of just two ingredients: semi-sweet chocolate and heavy cream. Yet it is one of the most versatile and delicious dessert components you can make.
Start with a simple ice cream base or crème Anglaise and create your own ice cream flavors. Mix in your favorite summer berries, high-quality chocolate (whether melted and/or cut into chunks), or toasted nuts, or infuse the cream with tea leaves, coffee, or herbs.
Have a ball with purees and sauces by "painting" a plate with them. Use two sauces of contrasting colors, such as chocolate sauce and crème Anglaise, or sweetened raspberry and mango purées.
