Midnight Gingersnaps

These are tiny gingersnaps that pack a punch of flavor! I call them 'midnight' because they taste dark and mysterious to me. They are similar to the German pfeffernuss (peppernuts).

This is a German spice cookie recipe, similar to gingerbread, which I received from my mother, Sabine Muller. I thought that I would share it with you. The literal translation is 'pepper cakes', I always ice them with a lemon glaze.
