Oh, this was perfect! The only thing I changed was omitting the pepper. (first chili powder - very spicy - then red pepper flakes - VERY SPICY - and then pepper on top of all that?! Nuh-Uh!!) Anyway, this was full of flavor! :)

I am so very thankful for coming across this recipe. I was getting ready to make taco salad and realized that the taco seasoning I had the ingredients consisted of yeast which I could not have. This recipe is fantastic! The taste was incredible and for some strange reason my meat was not full of grease as it normally is when using store bought taco seasoning. No more store bought taco seasoning for me.

This is a quick and easy recipe that tastes great! I highly recommend it! I make it in large batches and store it in small mason jars!

Used real garlic and onion instead of the powders, also mixed half a can of tomato paste with a bit of water, the spice mixture, and a bit of flour. Then cooked the water off. Turned out fantastic! Better than any packet.

This is a handy recipe to have! I browned a little over a pound of ground beef, and mixed in this entire batch with approx 3/4 cup water. My husband loved it. He said this made the best taco meat he's ever had. Made exactly as written and would not change a thing. I will continue to make this instead of buying packets.

This is the only taco seasoning I use anymore. I always have these spices on hand and never have to worry if I have a packet of taco seasoning in the house or not! I

I liked this recipie. I have tried quite a few taco seasonings and they never came out nearly as good as this. This did come out a little too hot, but I think that was because there are huge differences in how and where you get chili powder. I was using pure Indian chili powder where most chili powder in American stores are much older and weaker and a mix of different types of chilis. I should have known to cut it down I would never even consider using this much even in super hot curry. I guess you could just use less mix but then you will have to give up the other flavors and like someone else said I am a garlic/onion lover and I would not want to give up that flavor. Better to adjust the powder than cut down flavor. But since my family likes HOT food, they just added a little extra sour cream to reduce the heat. Next time I will stick to 1/2 a tbsp. I made a batch to keep on hand and i also skipped the red chili flakes. Never like them and they are redundant considering you already have chili powder. If you have kids who like the toco bell type you can consider adding 1/4 tsp of corn starch it will give it the texture they are used to. My kids love it that way, but not me.
