Pretty good.... While tomato soup has never been a favorite of mine, I find that I can tolerate it sometimes. Although not as good as some tomato soups I've tried, this was decent and something that I'd consider making again. The butter and cream definitely take this over the top and add a silky texture that just can't be rivaled (so don't skimp!). Having said this, I did detect the slightest tinny taste in my soup. Had I not used canned tomato juice, this might not have been an issue. I suggest purchasing bottled tomato juice to be safe (but that's just me). NOTE: I followed HONEY-BEE's advice and blanched vine-ripened tomatoes, using tongs to hold them "by the vine" until the skins split. It took only minutes for my tomatoes to cool at which point I was able to peel (easy breezy), seed and chop them. Serving bowlfuls topped with homemade focaccia croutons made this extra special. Aiago cheese bread (purchased from my local Panera) was a perfect accompainment. Thanks for sharing, MARBALET! :-)
