Not bad. Added extra cinnamon and used fresh ground nutmeg. Also subbed about 1/3 c rapadura for the white sugar and used half freshly ground whole wheat flour. Fried in lard.

I had SUCH a disappointment with these. Very wet batter, added more flour. At 190º, they started to disintigrate before they started to cook, so I upped the heat, but all these babies did was suck up the oil. The outsides were crunchy, and the insides were honestly oil-drenched. Gave this 2 stars instead of 1 because Idon't like spoiling peoples' ratings. Sorry!

Very good recipe. Thank you so much!! This was my first time making donuts and they turned out amazing! I did a simple orange glaze with ours. ;-)

These were wonderful. Converted to Gluten Free and replaced the flour with 1 1/2 cups of brown rice flour and 1/2 cup of potato starch plus 1 teaspoon of xgum. I will be making these again!

I couldn't find my regular recipe for cake donuts this morning, so I made these. My kids and I both loved them. Thank you!

1st time making doughnuts! This was a fabulous recipe. Didn't really need a lot of extra flour either. Covered in powered sugar and some in chocolate frosting! Family loved them!

I love this recipe, I am going to attempt a slight alter to make Chocolate doughnuts. I am having trouble finding a good Chocolate cake doughnut. Best doughnut recipe I have cooked yet though.

way too salty!! decrease the salt to 1/2 tsp and these would be great. also, i made them with whole wheat flour and they still came out light and fluffy :)
