Really weird. We cook Indian often (though this was my first attempt at a curry), and I did the usual stuff you would do - roast the spices first, added a little cream, etc, and this is just an odd taste and consistency. Not like any curry I've ever had, whether in restaurants or the homes of Indian friends. I'm sorry - if you are a beginner to Indian this might be just the trick, but if you cook it often, you might look around a little more. I probably should have done as other reviewers have suggested and replaced the Cayenne with proper Indian Chili powder; all I could taste was chalky coconut milk and Cayenne.
