These are great. The only modification was to use 2 tablespoons of flaxseed mill and a 1/2 cup of water, let this sit while you prepare the other ingredients for the burgers. I poured off the excess water from flax mixture and used the remains as an egg subsitute. I also used Panko Bread Crumbs. The burger mixture was then dumped onto parchment paper. I put another piece on top and patted it down to the desired burger depth. I then used a glass to cut out the burgers. The burgers held together beautifully. I transfered them via a spatula to a hot, lighly greased, nonstick frying pan. My meat eating husband even liked them. A hugh success.
