I also add 2-3 onions and 2 lemons to this recipe-But the best addition is to add fresh whole white mushrooms! They really soak up the flavors of the boil-I add them with the corn and the crab-if you like mushrooms, you will love these!

This was delicious. Added 1 quartered lemon and some fresh chopped parsley at the end. Served with an ice cold beer and a crusty bread to soak up some broth.

Great for parties. Easy to make, and exciting for guests. The recipe is for 15 but I consistently find that it feeds about 20 adults.

This is a popular event at our house. I too use the bag seasoning from Zatarains, I throw in a couple of quartered onions and I add a cup or 2 of white vinegar to the water. Supposedly, this helps with the shrimp peeling easily and doesn't leave any adverse taste. Finally, while I can and do appreciate the ease of covering a table with newspaper, I do it slightly differently. I found a cheap plastic container ($5) at one of the big box stores that's basically an "under bed" storage container. I dump it all into that, smother it with butter and Old Bay it. The mess is contained and easily cleaned up. It's actually easier to do it this way while camping or while tailgating. The container comes with a lid and you can either take it home this way while tailgating or do all cleanup in this container and properly dispose of the soapy/buttery water. It's a fantastic meal but don't forget the cold ones!

A house favorite! Great group meal! I added a bit of chili flakes and spicy sausage, along with an onion and a bit of white wine along with the boiling water! Mmm mmm. Also used baby red potatoes and cooked them a bit longer.

This was a big hit at my house for my son's birthday! we don't have a crab shack around to eat at anymore here in Ohio, so this worked out great! The only thing I did different is cut the recipe in half and it was still alot of food! thanks!
