I absolutely LOVE this recipe, as did my guests. I added a few handfuls of chopped celery, carrots and mushrooms as well as a small diced yellow onion to make the soup more hearty and to add a little crunch (add more or less of each veggie according to your preference). My sister-in-law said it was the best she'd ever had. I'm from Minnesota, so we know our wild rice soup - and I think I have to agree with my sister-in-law. It's like a warm, buttery Ritz cracker in your mouth, BUT BETTER! My brother and sister-in-law have already requested it again (many times, actually) and I plan to make it for them soon as a series of dinners I'll be bringing over to their house now that they're brand new parents! A TOTAL KEEPER!
