Omitted from last review: I used unsalted butter instead of margarine, and used a cookie scoop rather than trying to roll out balls of dough. It worked beautifully with perfectly round cookies.

Wonderful cookies. So soft and chewy and they look store bought they are so pretty. For Christmas we rolled them in colored sugar and gave them as gifts to our neighbors. Very quick and easy to make! My whole family love them. A keeper for sure.

Can't even believe how good these were, or that I was the one who made them. Wow!! Making them now for second time, cut everything in half so I don't have 2 dozen cookies sitting around to pig out on! Walnut-sized is a little ambiguous - I'd say shape each one to ball the size of pink pong ball.

My favourite cookies ever! For those who get flat cookies - add 1 teaspoon of cream of tartar. You'll get that lovely "cracked" look. Yum!

made this recipe with whole wheat white flour (from TJs) and butter instead. substituted the water with OJ as one reviewer recommended. refrigerated dough for an hour before rolling. results were perfect. dough can be frozen for weeks and they turn out just as good.

I made these cookies for my family during Christmas, and now they keep begging me to make more! My dad LITERALLY ate 30 of them in 10 second the first time. These cookies are amazing!

Absolutely scrumptious! The only suggestions I took is to replace the water with orange juice (not sure if it really makes that much of a difference but if you have in on hand you may as well use it instead) and to refrigerate the dough before rolling in sugar and baking (it makes it less sticky). Otherwise, don't change a thing! Everyone I've made these for has devoured them! Thank you for sharing, this is definitely my most used cookie recipe!
