this was awesome. I didnt have chicken broth so i made my own out of chicken bullion cubes. It went perfectly along side of grilled cheeses. I have 2 stepkids 12 and 7 and they didn't like the looks of it at first but they ate every bite. Great recipe. easy to make. I wouldn't change a thing. My only issue was when i put it in the blender my blender was in "on" position and i didnt have my hand on the cover and i lost some soup and burned my arm lol. so be cautious with the blender and don't over blend.

This didn't have much flavor, but it was also a healthier version of a full cream soup so that makes sense. I will be making again, but will make some adjustments.

Followed recipe, except took other people's suggestions about potato mashing the broccoli instead of puree! HOLY WOW! It's good!!

A good starters recipe for this soup. Even though it isn't the original recipe any more.... I added some carrots and did what other reviewers said by adding sweet onion instead of regular. I also made it with some fresh parsley sprigs, dried lime leaves, bay leaves, cheddar cheese and smoked cheddar cheese. Maybe I will make it as is next time and see how I like it to give it a fair rating. Otherwise, it was good!

I really loved this recipe, easy and quick. I used 1 cup heavy whipping cream and 1 cup milk to add some richness and I also used asparagus with the broccoli. I also pureed it a little bit in my food processor, but left it a little chunky. It was delicious and I will be making it again!

This soup was great! I made it mostly as directed. I omitted the celery (my daughter didn't want it) and used 1.5 c milk and .5 c heavy cream instead of the 2c. milk. I also took other's advise and used a potato masher to break up the broccoli instead of blending it. I don't care for pureed soup. As many have stated, it takes more than 10 minutes to soften the broccoli. My entire family (including 3 children, 10 & under) loved it!

Love this recipe! I tried adding a little bacon (didn't really notice much of a difference but wasn't bad either). It took much longer for the broccoli to soften than the original recipe says (I would allow at least 25 minutes, depending on how small you cut the florets). Also, I ladled a couple of cups from the soup into my food processor and blended it. Afterwards, I added it back into the cooking soup. That left the consistancy nice-- smooth with florets of broccoli still left (you definitely want to leave some broccoli unmashed so it's not completely runny)...some sharp cheddar would've been good too as a topping. Thanks for the recipe!

Finally I can get my kids to eat their veggies. They ate 2 bowls each. I added some carrots and sauted them together with onions and celery. When the soup was ready I put half of it in a tall container and blended it with an immersion blender for the kids. My husband enjoyed the not blended half. Delicious!

Very tasty. Would make this again. I did not puree as I like a chunkier soup. Very easy and tasty - my kind of recipe!
