This potato soup was much thicker and more flavorful then what I grew up eating. I used more potatoes, then called for, and probably should have added more water to accomodate!

Very good, husband loved it! I took the advice of one of the other posts and used chicken broth instead of water but I did half chicken broth and half water. Also I definitely added more pepper like a whole tsp rather than an 1/8. It did not get super spicy just gave it a bit of a kick. Otherwise very good!

This was very good and quick! I made it exactly as written and my whole family ate it. I really liked the idea of grating a carrot in with the potatoes because my kids don't like carrots on their own. Everyone said they would eat it again. Thanks!

I really enjoyed this soup as did my entire family and I have been giving the recipe out too because everyone who tries it wants to make it themselves. Yummy! I always use too much potato and I also noticed that it gets a little to thick(maybe I'm doing something wrong) So I thin in out a bit with some chicken broth. And as previously suggested I use prepared mustard instead.

Sooo good! I made it in a crock pot just because, but took way too long to cook. Will cook it as per the recipe next time.

I changed the recipe up some so that is why it's a 4. I didn't use the nutmeg or parsley and instead of bacon I used some sausage because I was out of bacon. I think it would be better with the bacon so that's up for next time. As someone else said, either use big potatoes or less water. It was runny but good so I tossed in some instant flakes and another can of milk to thicken it up and that fixed it just fine. It's a great recipe to adjust to your own tastes and I'm sure it's great as is too. I will have to try it without alterations one time.

This soup is very good, but its even better the next day once all the flavors have a chance to come together. Here are a few tips i have from making it more than once: 1. Use chicken broth instead of just water 2. I used turkey bacon and fat-free evaporated milk, and they both worked great 3. Add 1 large teaspoon of brown mustard at the end - I have made this with just dry mustard and with just the regular mustard. Using some regular mustard qives it the "zip" it needs. 4. I did need to add a little extra salt and pepper at the end. 5. You don't need to peel the potatoes, its just as good either way 6. My husband likes a creamier potato soup so after i boiled the potatoes, i pulled half out and then used a hand blender on the rest in the stock pot. Once it was thick and creamy i added the other potatoes back in. Great recipe with ingredients i keep on hand. Thanks!

Not bad. We added garlic and substituted a teaspoon of Dijon mustard for the mustard powder. Be aware that if your potatoes are small you may want to use less water. Ours turned out very thin and weak because of this. It still tasted yummy though.

This is what potato soup is supposed to taste like. We had to use dried parsley and yellow mustard and we didn't have any Worcestershire sauce but it was awesome anyway. It was so good, we made it for dinner 2 nights in a row.

Absolutley delish!! This is what comfort food should taste like. I had no nutmeg on hand, but the flavor of this is just perfect without it for my taste. My hand held blender stick came in handy at the end to create a rough a mash. I can't wait until the husband comes home to have some. It's 9am and I'm half way through a big bowl of this. Thank you for such a wonderful winter soup.

This soup is very delicious. I made it for a group of Masons for our monthly soup night and it garnered rave reviews. One of the brothers is a chef and he thought it was outstanding, which says a lot. I would highly recommend this soup especially for the meat and potatoes crowd.
