Zesty Slow Cooker Chicken Barbecue Recipe Reviews - Allrecipes.com (Pg. 8)

I made this yesterday using a whole chicken (just had to pull apart with forks and pick out the bones towards the end of the 4 hours on high). It was definitely tender and flavorful. I had to drain at about 3 hours in to ensure the sauce be thick since it was a bit watery for our taste. I used Bullseye BBQ sauce and Zesty italian dressing since that is what I had on hand. The Bullseye sauce is very bold so it was the dominant flavor. Maybe next time I will use a milder, less smokey sauce. Overall a tasty dish served pulled over rice and onions. Thank you Zanne Tastic for sharing :)

YUM! Followed the recipe to the T. I was hesitant about the Italian Dressing but it worked wonderfully. Nice flavor and sweetness. My husband actually liked this dish. Thank you for sharing!

So easy! I was sold on it when I saw that you don't have to thaw the chicken first. It turned out great. I topped it with jarred jalepeno peppers.

I made this recipe a couple days ago for my boyfriend and I and it's already gone. I usually cut recipes in half since it's just the two of us, but I should have made the full 6 serving recipe on this one. I took advice from previous reviews and added diced red onion (1/2), 2 cloves of garlic, and 1Tbs liquid smoke. I used Jack Daniels honey BBQ and Wishbone Italian dressing. Instead of serving it on a bun I served it on sweet potatoes and topped it with pickles and red onion. My bf also loves pickled jalepenos so he added those...but I'm not sure I'd recommend that concoction across the board. We loved it! Thanks for sharing :)

Delicious! I used fresh chicken breasts, way less brown sugar, but other than that this recipe is great!

Easy and tasty. I used a pkg of boneless, skinless thighs because that's my preference for taste and shredding ease. My crockpot is a beast, so I had this dinner on the table in less than 3 hours start to finish. I recommend using a packet of Italian dressing to taste instead of the liquid variety. Used Sweet Baby Ray's Hickory & Brown Sugar and added a small, sauteed sweet onion about an hour before done. Served on whole wheat buns toasted with a little butter and garlic powder, a sprinkling of cheddar cheese (some extra raw onion for me), some butter lettuce, and a side of sweet potato fries. This will remain on the rotation...thanks!
