Delicious! Four stars cause I altered. I used only 1/4c butter and next time I will double the onions which were oh so good!

Husband said these were "wonderful"...I liked them too. I did not use any butter, just olive oil and red pepper flakes. Shook some grated parmesan and broiled at the end. Could've used more pepper and salt, but over all, very easy and tasty.

I made these tonight with jerk pork chops. Great pairing. I will cut back a tad on the butter next time, however it really was not too much.

I LOVE THIS RECIPE! Some reviews said to use half the butter, I did, but wish I hadn't.Tasted fine, but stuck to the baking dish. Also substituted cayenne for crushed pepper flakes, but use a little more if you want a more "seroius kick". After hubby said " I really like the potatoes", will DEFINITELY use this recipe again! Make sure to sprinkle with shredded cheese after removing foil and use garlic salt before the butter drizzle. Use lots of onions, they turn out great!

Great way to serve up potatoes. I always add a little garlic to them for a little extra flavor. Love them!

Great dish - simple and always gets rave reviews. I sprinkle a few cloves of chopped garlic on top with some rosemary, black pepper and coarse salt. I omit the pepper flakes only because my family does not like spicy food.

This recipe was so good!! I made it almost exactly as stated, but followed the reviews and added more red pepper flakes and less butter. everyone said to add a tsp of the pepper flakes, so i decided to add 2 heaping teaspoons as i like really spicy things. it burned my lips, but was still so delicious that i must have drank five glasses of water with my serving. everyone agreed too much spice, but loved it. next time i will tone it down a bit.

It's a keeper! I do agree with other reviewers that the butter can be cut in half to avoid the greasiness. I also think that more red pepper flakes are in order to really get the 'zesty' part going. Broiling a few minutes to crisp the potatoes and onions is a must and topping it with shredded sharp cheddar cheese was delicious!

This was EXCELLENT!!! I only had red onions so had to use those. I layered the sliced potatoes and onions. I used half the butter as suggested by others. During the last 10 minutes I topped with cheddar cheese as others suggested. I forgot to add the garlic salt, but since the red onions are strong I didn't miss it. Yum, yum, and yum. You can imagine my disappointment when I dropped the leftovers on the kitchen floor. I will be making these again very soon!!!

These potatoes are out of this world! I cut the butter in half and added a little chipotle shredded cheese at the end. Hubby and I both gobbled them up. FYI--the Sargento Chipotle Cheddar blend cheese is really good! It's got a real kick to it and a great deal of flavor. I've added it to many recipes, including Zucchini Boats (from this site). They are yummy, too.

The potatoes came out nice and tender BUT the dish was way too greasy. I will probably half the butter next time. I suggest sprinkling a lil garlic powder and salt over each layer of potatoes and then pouring the melted butter on top. DEFINITELY use more red pepper flake and ABSOLUTELY sprinkle cheddar cheese on top AFTER you remove the foil from the pan.

These had a good kick to them! I love red potatoes, and the onions were yummy. We love spicy food, so I added extra red pepper flakes because I was afraid they wouldn't be hot enough, but they really didn't need it. Really easy to make too. Thanks.

These were YUMMY! Added garlic salt. Only thing I would adjust would be the amount of butter. I had TOO much! Maybe it was my potatoes? Anyway, careful with the butter. Red pepper is a GREAT combo with potatoes! Husband loved them.

There was too much butter for this recipie. Very greasy! And I used more potatoes than it called for. Maybe cut back on the butter, but it seems like it needs something else as well.
