This was EXCELLENT!!! I only had red onions so had to use those. I layered the sliced potatoes and onions. I used half the butter as suggested by others. During the last 10 minutes I topped with cheddar cheese as others suggested. I forgot to add the garlic salt, but since the red onions are strong I didn't miss it. Yum, yum, and yum. You can imagine my disappointment when I dropped the leftovers on the kitchen floor. I will be making these again very soon!!!

Absolutely delicious side dish! The onions were soooo good with this, even my kids(who hate onions) ate every bite and asked for seconds. Thanks for a definite keeper!!!

These potatoes are out of this world! I cut the butter in half and added a little chipotle shredded cheese at the end. Hubby and I both gobbled them up. FYI--the Sargento Chipotle Cheddar blend cheese is really good! It's got a real kick to it and a great deal of flavor. I've added it to many recipes, including Zucchini Boats (from this site). They are yummy, too.

The potatoes came out nice and tender BUT the dish was way too greasy. I will probably half the butter next time. I suggest sprinkling a lil garlic powder and salt over each layer of potatoes and then pouring the melted butter on top. DEFINITELY use more red pepper flake and ABSOLUTELY sprinkle cheddar cheese on top AFTER you remove the foil from the pan.

I skinnied this down by using chicken broth rather than the butter. My family still loved it.

These had a good kick to them! I love red potatoes, and the onions were yummy. We love spicy food, so I added extra red pepper flakes because I was afraid they wouldn't be hot enough, but they really didn't need it. Really easy to make too. Thanks.

These were YUMMY! Added garlic salt. Only thing I would adjust would be the amount of butter. I had TOO much! Maybe it was my potatoes? Anyway, careful with the butter. Red pepper is a GREAT combo with potatoes! Husband loved them.

There was too much butter for this recipie. Very greasy! And I used more potatoes than it called for. Maybe cut back on the butter, but it seems like it needs something else as well.

We love this recipe, but it's even better when you top it with cheddar cheese! This is something I will be making at least once a week, my family loves it.

Absolutely scrumptious! It filled the house with a wonderful aroma as it was baking, and the taste did not disappoint! The onions gave it a slightly sweet edge, and the spicy red pepper really came through. I used it as a side to my meatloaf and it could not have been better. Best potatoes EVER!

With the exception of my oven malfunctioning while trying to make this, it was an exceptionally easy and delcious recipe. the butter gave the potatoes a really nice coating and the red pepper flakes really kicked it up a notch! awesome.

This got raves at a dinner party last weekend...RAVES. Was asked for the recipe several times. I broiled it at the end to crisp the top a bit. Thanks for the recipe, definite keeper.

This is a wonderful dish, especially if you like things spicy, which I do. As spicy as I like things, I went a little overboard on the hot peppers. Not recommended!! It doesn't take much of those hot little flakes to get your juices flowing!
