Ingredients

  • 1 medium onion, cut into half slices
  • 1 pound Italian sausage
  • 2 (14.5 ounce) cans RED GOLD® DICED TOMATOES with BASIL, GARLIC & OREGANO or REDPACK® DICED TOMATOES with BASIL, GARLIC & OREGANO
  • 1 (8 ounce) can RED GOLD® TOMATO SAUCE or REDPACK® TOMATO SAUCE
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 (16 ounce) package ditalini or ziti pasta, cooked and drained

Directions

  1. In a large skillet cook sausage and onion over medium high heat until meat is no longer pink; drain well.
  2. Add RED GOLD® or REDPACK® DICED TOMATOES WITH BASIL, GARLIC & OREGANO and RED GOLD® or REDPACK® TOMATO SAUCE and heat through. Add pasta and cheese and blend together.

Footnotes

  • Tip:
  • Turkey sausage is low in fat but still high in flavor. Check the label on the sausage to make sure it is made with turkey breast which is lower in fat than turkey sausage made with dark meat.
