Yummy Yam Casserole is right! Made it exactly as written and it was great, a great addition to our Thanksgiving table. On Sunday, this morning, I made pumpkin bread but used the left over casserole instead of pumpkin puree, that tasted great too.

Oh, so much better than the old standbys with miniature marshmallows. I drained a big can of yams and beat with the electric mixer, then made as directed. I made this the day before without the topping, then added the pecans, brown sugar, and melted butter to the top and stuck it in the oven while the dressing baked. It was perfect. I can't say my guests raved about it, since only two of us eat yams, but if you love yams or sweet potatoes, you should love this.

Yams just roasted in the oven with a bit of olive oil is wonderful, but this casserole dish is perfect for Thanksgiving! Everyone loves it... even those who do not like yams/sweet potatoes! It's a must at our Thanksgiving meal!

I made this recipe for Thanksgiving and it was a hit with most people. I, personally, found it a bit too sweet... even after taking 1/2 cup of sugar out. But definitely a good veggie dish for non-veggie people.

I served Canadian Thanksgiving dinner in Sweden for my friends, and this was SUCH a good recipe. I added some maple syrup instead of some of the brown suger (to up the Canadian factor) and made it vegan (marg instead of butter and ground flax instead of eggs - 3tsp ground flax and 1 tbsp water = 1egg, cholestrol free and works in anything!) and I loved it!

Every Thanksgiving people ask me to make this. It's easy and a huge hit. I've fiddled with it a bit over the years with less sugar, no nuts, maple syrup etc and it's always good.

I've been a member since 2006 and make this time and again. My whole family and guests always LOVE this. My 13 year old and I actually get cravings and will make this just for that. He raves that its "just like pumpkin pie" I LOVE it with stuffing ie...sweet and salty ;)
