I made this for Thanksgiving 2008, but am just getting around to reviewing it. Months after eating it, I still remember how deliciously awesome and easy it was. It was my first time hosting Thanksgiving dinner. My mom always made the marshmellow version, but I decided to try this one instead. Boy was it fantastic! Everybody loved it!! The best part was that it was easy to make when you are cooking 10 other things in the kitchen too. I will definitely make again...too bad Thanksgiving is only once a year!

I am a little late in writing this review. I made this dish for Thanksgiving instead of my traditional canned, smashed, sweet potatoes with marshmellows on top and it was delicious. This is now my sweet potato recipe for holidays. I did follow suggestions to bake the sweet potatoes instead of boiling them. Thanks for the recipe and suggestions in the review section of this web site.

This recipe was great! It was very simple, and it tasted great. It was my first time to prepare this dish, and everyone loved it. I added cinnamon, and a little bit of nutmeg.

Everyone loved this variation of sweet potatoes. I baked the sweet potatoes first and then the skins came right off and it gave them better flavor. It was quite yummy! Thank you!

I didn't have time to bake the sweet potatoes, but I'm sure it would have tasted even better that way. I peeled them, boiled them, mashed them, and added the other items. I also boiled them in nutmeg and cinnamon. I figured it couldn't hurt anything. I used evaporated milk instead of regular milk and added the suggested 1 tsp cinnamon and 1/4th of nutmeg and ground cloves. I also added a bit more sugar too. I came out fabulous! We had company over for Christmas dinner, and one lady said that my casserole tasted incredible and much better than her aunt's. Her aunt is an incredible cook, so that's saying something. They said that it wasn't too sweet at all. Next time, I might try it with baked sweet potatoes, but I boiled, them and it turned out fine.

This casserole was the hit of Thanksgiving! I followed it to the "t" and it came out so beautifully! I had to leave the leftovers with my in-laws because I was afraid I would wolf down the remaining! Truly a keeper for all Thanksgivings!!!

Mmmm! Sweet potatoes are one of those things that are either ignored or gobbled up at our holiday table ... this one was definitely a favorite! I did use fresh sweet potatoes (baked) and do think they're much better than canned. Made the recipe just as it was.

I made this with sweet potatos for Thanksgiving and yams for Christmas...both were great. I used Splenda brown sugar rather than regular (if you do this use 1/2 the sugar required). It was such a huge sucess both times with 2 different groups. GREAT recipe.
