My friend and I both made this recipe and I used heavy cream instead of milk and striped the top with marshmellows and pecan streusel. Mine came out incredible, and my friend said hers burned. I added the marshmellows 15 mins into cooking time. GREAT delicious recipes.

Really, really yummy. Lots of compliments at Thanksgiving dinner. I added 1/4 tsp of cinnamon to the potatoes. Also, I made the potato mixture the night before, as well as the topping, and just put the 2 together the next day before baking.

Made this for Thanksgiving and it was a big hit. I did bake the potatoes as suggested by some, and I also added some nutmeg, cinnamon, and pumpkin spice to the potatoes. I also used mostly brown sugar very little granulated sugar. I was asked to make it for future dinners with the family. This is a definite keeper for sure.

Outstanding! My family usually won't eat sweet potatoes, but I made these for Thanksgiving and they all went! As suggested I used 5 baked sweet potatoes, 1/4 tsp of nutmeg, 1/4 tsp ground cloves, substituted evaporated milk, upped the vanilla to 1 tsp, and 1 tsp cin. I also doubled the topping. I'll have to make anothe batch this weekend to go w/ the Thanksgiving left overs!

This was fabulous!! I made it for Thanksgiving dinner and the family couldn't stop raving about it. I followed the recipe exactly except that I baked it in a smaller, deeper oval dish. I made prep easier by mashing the sweep potatoes the day before and just heating them up in the micro.

This is the first recipe I've ever tried that was worth a comment. This recipe is absolutely DELICIOUS with a great texture to add to a giant holiday feast (or a ham, for that matter). I can't wait to have a reason to make it again. Thanks for sharing it!

A friend of mine usually makes the sweet potato casserole with marshmallows-but for our taste it is always way too sweet--covering the delicious taste of the sweet potatoes. I found this recipe and simply altered the sugar in the sweet potatoes, cutting it back to only a 1/4 cup. I also suggest doubling the topping to make it nice and crunchy! I didn't have pecans on hand, but did have carmelized walnuts--DH loved it.

This was fantastic. I used the recalculation tool and doubled the recipe. It was great to have left overs and I was asked for the recipe. I did add just a sprinkle of nutmeg and cinnamon which was an idea from another reviewer. Since the reviews were so great for the recipe as is...I did not want to change but the idea of cinnamon and nutmeg with sweet potato sounded good...so I just sprinkled in a small amount and one friend said she liked the hint of nutmeg. The pecan topping was excellent. Like other reviewers I baked the potatoes first. This is definitely a keeper.

Love the recipe, but you need to add a lot more spices and seasons because it is bland if not added. I added cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon flavor, a little more sugar, and vanilla and nut flavoring. The topping is great!!! I would melt the butter in the microwave though before adding it to the mix.

DELICIOUS! I made this for my Thanksgiving dinner today, and it was excellent, everyone loved it. I did only use 1/4 cup sugar, and a teaspoon of cinnamon and nutmeg. Other then that keep everything the same.

This was a very good dish and easy to make. It was super sweet, though, so I it seemed more like a dessert type dish. My husband gobbled it up!

This was good but it was too sweet for me!! It was more like a desert. If I make it again I will cut the sugar in half at least.

First off let me say i would give this more stars if i could. I can't have any dairy so i substituted canola oil for butter and almond milk for milk, other than i made no changes.

These were a big hit at my thanksgiving. I've never made sweet potatoes before and was looking for something my guest would have never tried. I did well in choosing this recipe! I will probably cut down on the sugar next time. These potatoes will be a permanent addition to my thanksgiving menu!

Made this for the first time today to bring to the in-laws for Thanksgiving. Got sooo many compliments - it was awesome! I like others baked the sweet potatoes in the oven - decreased the white sugar by half - but next time I think I'll use even less sugar. I Doubled the vanilla extract and doubled the topping. Thank you for sharing this recipe its a keeper

Great! I don't like my swt potato casserole's too sweet, so I used a little less than 1/2 the amount of white sugar the recipe called for (less than 1/4 c) and doubled the Vanilla Extract (1 tsp). Also, used less of the brown sugar crumble topping but made sure I included all the pecans.
