these were good... i patted the pickle spears dry as well as the ham to cut down on any runny-ness. it was quick and easy to make, however next time i'll add some seasoning to the cream cheese mixture (such as ranch seasoning or even hot sauce... whatever sounds good at the time!) because i felt like they were missing a little something. thanks for sharing :)

These are always a hit where ever you serve them. I get requests from the kids every week to make more.

My family has been makin these for years, except for we use pepporcini slices instead of pickles and we sprinkle parmesan cheese on top. YUMMY! If you like a little spice try the pepporcinis!

Definitely tasty, but I spent way too much time making these, having made them as one reviewer suggested - using baby dills..what a pain! I would make them again using spears (as the recipe reads!)...that way, you know there's no "lost space" between pickles, etc. I was up until 2am making these for a tailgate... tasty, but not "two hours worth" tasty - will try with spears next time - and wiping ham "dry" is key to the cream cheese sticking!

I use pickled okra (mild) instead of pickles and it is DIVINE!! ***Pickled okra can be found in the pickle section usually found on the top shelf.

I make these from time to time, except I use bologna instead of ham. I find it much better even though I don't like bologna on it's own. If you spread the cream cheese on well enough, you don't need to secure with toothpicks since it stays in place on it's own.

I love this recipe, but I've always done it using dried beef (or sometimes corned beef if dried beef couldn't be found) instead of ham, and they are a favorite in my house!

These are really good. I actually have never made them, but went to a graduation party and tried them for the first time. These are great to make ahead of time, leave in the frig until guest arrive! Great!!!

I love these little guys. I either have to eat my fair share before serving or stash some aside for later because they disappear before I have a chance to enjoy them myself! I have often made them with Genoa Salami instead of ham and are so good both ways.

This is an excellent recipe (in my family for years - we called them polish roses), with so many variations! The one thing I do add to my "polish roses" or "roll ups" is that I mix in a packet of hidden valley ranch in with the cream cheese. It's good for an extra kick.

I've made these before, but had forgotten about them until I stumbled upon this recipe. I made them for our football & poker party today and they disappeared quite quickly. I did refrigerate the rolls for about an hour before slicing them up, which helped keep them together I think. Thanks!

This is a wonderful long time recipe we've made for our family gatherings of most every occasion. Picnics, holidays, dinner parties, movie nights, etc... You really can't go wrong. It's best when using quality ham. The pickle spears certainly still work well but we've been happier with small whole pickles. We usually use whole midget or baby dills vs. the long spears. We found they aren't as "juicy" and the roll-ups can be easily made further ahead of time as the juice doesn't run as much. They are also crunchier than the spears like someone else suggested. Sometimes finely shredded cheddar and/or a little pure prepared horseradish (not the cream or mayo based horseradish) mixed into the cream cheese works nicely for a little extra kick.
